Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and is the only person to be recognized with 10/10 scores at an Olympic performance. Comaneci was spotted by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics coach when she was just six years old. Comaneci was the first to compete for time in the 1969 national junior championships, placing 13th. Following that, she was crowned champion. At her first international event in 1972 she took the top spot having won three golds. When she competed for the first time at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva of Russia won five gold medals, as well as one silver. In 1976, she won the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars using a double backward salto. She started her career as an entertainment professional during her teenage years in which she was a part of a figure skating duo with her sibling Nina Wayne for the travelling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol entered the entertainment industry in her teens. She began her career when she joined her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling spectacle of entertainment. Ice Capades was a show that featured ice-skating with actors.
