Julia Fiona Roberts, born 28th October 1967 at Atlanta in the United States to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is fourth in the Roberts generation to live in Atlanta, beginning with her great-grandfather, a farmer John Pendleton Roberts. The Robertses' father was interested in theatre from an early time. As a student at Emory University in 1952 he performed in shows on campus and elsewhere in Atlanta. When he was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi he was cast as a soldier in the play of Betty Lou Bredemus. The couple got married in the year 1955. Their first baby son Eric Anthony, was born in the year 1956. The couple divorced in 1957. the air force and Walter began his studies at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. The family relocated in 1960 from Louisiana to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working for Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter along with Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the local children's Saturday morning TV show Bum Bum and His Buddies and their Buddies, which they themselves funded. In 1964 Betty Lou and Walter founded The Actors and Writers Workshop. The program ran for 6 years. They were joined by Lelisa Billingsley (also known as Lisa) as well as Julia (also also known as Julie) in this time.
